Definition of this KPI:
Incident Rate assesses the safety of transportation operations by measuring the frequency of accidents, injuries, or other incidents.

Expressed as the number of incidents per million work hours. A lower incident rate suggests a safer working environment and effective safety protocols.


  • This KPI can be calculated as: (Number of Incidents / Total Work Hours) x 1,000,000
  • The KPI will be measured as: ratio (number)
  • How to interpret the KPI: lower is better
